Compton Verney Half Marathon and 10K 2026
Entry is open for the 2026 edition of this popular road race based from the beautiful art gallery mansion house of Compton Verney.
Event Information/Overview
Previously known as Edgehill Half Marathon we decided to rename it after the beautiful start / finish venue, the course doesn’t in fact go up Edgehill. We are always overwhelmed at how beautiful Compton Verney is when we are setting up. If you have never been, the beautiful house and grounds are well worth a visit.
The half marathon sets off from the front of the house and winds through the villages of Kineton, Little Kineton and Radway before returning up the “cheeky” Pittern Hill at 11.5 miles and back to finish on the lawns of Compton Verney by the lake.
In previous years we have been blessed with beautiful weather, we had to make sure there was plenty of water available but it made for glorious events.
In 2023 we added a 10K race distance option which has proved very popular and will continue to take place in 2026.
The Half Marathon will start at 9am and the 10K will start at 9:20am.

Half Marathon
Starting at Compton Verney the route turns left over Spring Hill towards Kineton and turns right in the village through Little Kineton and heads out to the A422. The first water station will be just after Little Kineton. Turning left along the A422 for a short section before turning left past water station number 2, and then through the village of Radway. After Radway and just before turning back on to the A4086 is water station number 3, and then runners head back to Kineton. At the church in Kineton there will be another water station before running back to Compton Verney, finishing right by the house.
10K
The first part of the route is the same as the Half with runners turning left out of Compton Verney. Just before the first mile the route turns left and through Lodge Farm connecting with the Lighthorne Road. Turning right this time and heading downhill into Kineton the route turns right again at the Church and heads through Kineton and up Pittern Hill. Just at the top of the hill the route turns right again before linking up with the Lighthorne Road before following exactly the same route back to Lodge Farm and then entering the grounds of Compton Verney to the finish.

Music Whilst Running
Bone conduction sports headphones are the only headphones that are approved for use in all road races under the UK Athletics Rules of Competition. The Rules are clear that “in ear” headphones cannot be used in events where roads are open to traffic. Using bone conduction technology and open-ear design, Bone conduction headphones are able to deliver stereophonic sound through your cheekbones to your inner ear. Potentially preventing accidents caused by traditional headphones and earbuds that block out sounds, runners can enjoy their music and still hear everything around them – including traffic, emergency vehicles and other warning noises. This event is on open roads so only Bone conductions sports headphones are allowed. We ask you to please respect these safety rules otherwise you may be omitted from the race results.
Event Charities

THE TIME OUT GROUP
For the race we are once again partnering with our charity partner, The Time Out Group, which is a registered charity based in South Warwickshire whose aim is to provide specialist support to children with disabilities and their families, helping them to access numerous family opportunities. These children typically have complex behavioral and/or communication needs, and as a result need support with social interactions and struggle to access other local groups. The Group is split into two peer groups to help us to organise age appropriate activities. It is testament to the group that most of the children who join stay with us until they reach adulthood. Unfortunately, as a result places in the group are extremely limited. The Time Out Group meets on a Saturday to go on outings to participate in community leisure activities with the support of skilled and dedicated care workers. For more information please go to the website at The Time Out Group - Stratford upon Avon You can elect to run for The Time Out Group, or simply make a donation, by ticking Yes in the appropriate box on the application formEvent Sponsors

Fire & Earth Sports Massage
Fire & Earth will be offering free sports massage at the end of the race.
