Event Announcement
The Tempo Summer Midweek Series 2025 is officially open!!!
This year you all got involved and embraced our new races series which really has something for everyone.
3 races, 1 a month from May to July, all held on a Wednesday.
Finishers for each race will receive a finishers pie (meat and veggie ones will be available)
If you complete all 3 races you will receive a beautiful cotton (remember those!) Series Race T-Shirt
Each race is very different. There’s a road based 5 mile route, there’s a flat road 5K route and finally there’s a (hilly) off-road 4.6 mile route.
You can do all 3 races or just pick and choose. All 3 races are based from the Ilimington Sports Club where the Winter Series races are located.

Event Dates and Details
Race 1 – The Road One
Wednesday 28th May 2025 – 7pm
5 miles exactly all based on the road, Race 1 is a perfect way for the series to start. Yes there’s a hill! But it’s not quite the size of Lark Stoke (for those of you who know that one from the Winter Series).
Race 2 – The Flat 5K One
Wednesday 18th June 2025 – 7pm
This was really, really popular this year. No idea why?1 We’re sure it’s nothing to do with the flat route or the race distance.
Race 3 – The Off-Road One
Wednesday 23rd July 2025 – 7pm
4.6 miles of beautiful off-road running. Hopefully with it being a summer evening race the trails will be dry but the temperature will be pleasant! (this one also might have a hill – or two including the infamous Jerusalem Hill)
We’ve swapped the 2nd and 3rd race around for 2025 so that the final race finishes at the Sports Club and we can do prize givings and end of series celebrations at the club.

Use the red enter button to enter online. There will be day entries unless our race limit of 200 entrants per race is reached.
Each race costs £19 per entrant (UKA club affiliated runner) or £21 per non affiliated runners. Or you can enter all three races together and get a reduced entry rate.
Prizes
Prizes are awarded on the day to the first, second and third male and female finishers. This will be given on gun time.
Tempo Events Series Memento – all runners who complete all three races will receive a Tempo Events Summer Series cotton T-shirt at the end of the final round in July. If you suffer an injury, for one of the races you may still qualify by marshalling for us at that race but we must know. If you find yourself injured please let us know before the race so we know who is coming to marshal. You cannot get someone else to run in your place if you’re unable to run and still claim your series prize.
Summer Series Trophy – the best placed male and best placed female across all 3 races will receive a Series Trophy each.
Water stations
There will be no water station on any of the race routes so if you are requiring any water please plan to carry your own.
Withdrawal Policy
If you have entered the complete series, you have up to six weeks prior to the first race to withdraw and you will receive a full refund less a £2.00 admin fee. After this deadline, no refunds are offered, however an entry may be transferred to another runner on provision of full details prior to the race. Entries cannot be transferred on race day without our consent. If someone does run in your place you will no longer be eligible for either the series prize or the series memento. If you have entered an individual race you have up to six weeks prior to that race to withdraw and you will receive a full refund less a £2.00 admin fee. As above after this date no refunds are offered, however you can transfer your entry to another runner but they can’t run in your place for you to claim the series memento. In the event of a race being cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control we will attempt to reschedule to a later date and all entries will transfer to that rescheduled date. If this proves impossible we will offer entrants either a percentage refund or the option to donate that refund to the race charity. The percentage refunded / donated will depend on costs incurred at the time of cancellation. All contact should be made by email
Baggage and Toilets
We will be erecting gazebos for you to drop your bags while you run. It is not manned so if you have valuables, leave them in your cars. We can look after keys for you. You are welcome to drop them in the clubhouse but you may prefer to remain outside. There will be toilets available for you to use at the Sports Club.
