Our newest race is back!! The Lark Stoke Quad Challenge is a multi-terrain feast of everything running has to offer. Ups, descents, a little bit of flat (not much!), on road, off road. This race is going to become a bucket list one. The quirk is, you can choose the route you want.
Once you’ve gone up Lark Stoke (the highest point in Warwickshire) you get to choose the order you do the other three descents. In fact you don’t have to do all three. The maximum you can run is 15 miles but you could do as little as 7. It’s completely up to you. However the more you do the more you win.
Starting from the very bottom of Lark Stoke competitors have the choice of completing one, two or three routes, descending and ascending back up to the antenna at the top of Larkstoke. You don’t have to do them all. You can complete as many as you feel you can. For each one you complete you receive a memento (details to be announced!). In addition it’s up to you which order you complete the course in. The total distance for all four is 15 miles with around 2,175 feet of climb.
The other three descents are…….
1 – West to Mickleton via Hidcote Bartrim – a predominantly off-road section
2 – North via Ebrington Hill to the railway line at the bottom – all on road
3 – West via Nebsworth and Pig Lane before descending the infamous Jerusalem Hill – off-road
As already mentioned, you can complete one, two or all three in the order of your choice before heading back down Lark Stoke to the finish at the bottom.
Online Entry is open – use the Enter Now button to book.
Prices are –
£19 for running club members
£21 for non running club members
Minimum age to run is 17 years old
The races starts at 9:30am
If we haven’t reached the race limit there will be entries on the day.
Please note that the start line is not at the sports club but just over 1km along the road at the bottom of Lark Stoke. Please leave enough time to park and get to the start of the race.
From Stratford take the A3400 (Shipston Road) towards the village of Alderminster. After 3.7 miles, just before you reach Alderminster take a right turn along Wimpstone Lane (signposted to Ilmington). Passing through the village of Wimpstone continue for 4 miles at which point you will arrive at the village of Ilmington.
Take the first turn towards Mickleton and the Sports Club is about 500m on the left hand side.
Prizes will be awarded on the day to the first, second and third male and female finishers. This will be based on chip time.
Mementos will be given, one for each of the descents and ascents a competitor completes. (More details to be confirmed).
Baggage and Toilets
There is no baggage drop off at the race start/finish but your cars will be on site.
There will be toilets for you to use at the Sports Club.
Up to six weeks prior to the race entrants will receive a full refund less a £2.00 admin fee.
After this deadline, no refunds are offered unless the runner comes to help marshal on the day. However an entry may be transferred to another runner on provision of full details prior to the race. Entries cannot be transferred on race day.
In the event of the race being cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control we will attempt to reschedule to a later date in the same year and all entries will transfer to that rescheduled date.
If this proves impossible we will offer entrants either a percentage refund or the option to donate that refund to the race charity.
The percentage refunded / donated will depend on costs incurred at the time of cancellation.

No earphones please! From 1 April 2016, a new rule regarding the wearing of head phones in road races was introduced into the 2016-2018 edition of the UKA Rules of Competition: –
“The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic.”
This includes bone conducting ear phones for this event.
