Lark Stoke Quad Challenge R2

07 August 2021

Event Announcement - Lark Stoke Quad Challenge Race 2

Welcome to a new Tempo Event!!!

We’re really excited about this one because it’s something a little different!

Held at the same location as the Tempo Winter Series in Ilmington and heading up to the highest point in Warwickshire, this should present an epic challenge that anyone can attempt.

Why “quad challenge“?  Well because this event has competitors aiming to complete up to four ascents and descents starting with(the infamous) Lark Stoke itself all of which will get the quads in your legs telling you (potentially screaming at you!) what an epic event this is.

We think it’s so good we’re putting it on twice.

You’ll want to be there for the first race of this one to tell people “I was there at the start”!

Race 1 – Saturday 3rd July

Race 2 – Saturday 7th August

Event Info

Starting from the very bottom of Lark Stoke competitors have the choice of completing one, two or three routes, descending and ascending back up to the antenna at the top of Larkstoke. You don’t have to do them all. You can complete as many as you feel you can. For each one you complete you receive a memento (details to be announced!). In addition it’s up to you which order you complete the course in. The total distance for all four is 15 miles with around 2,175 feet of climb.

The other three descents are…….

1 – West to Mickleton via Hidcote Bartrim – a predominantly off-road section
2 – North via Ebrington Hill to the railway line at the bottom – all on road
3 – West via Nebsworth and Pig Lane before descending the infamous Jerusalem Hill – off-road

As already mentioned, you can complete one, two or all three in the order of your choice before heading back down Lark Stoke to the finish at the bottom.

The percentage refunded / donated will depend on costs incurred at the time of cancellation.

Event Safety

No earphones please! From 1 April 2016, a new rule regarding the wearing of head phones in road races was introduced into the 2016-2018 edition of the UKA Rules of Competition: –

“The wearing of headphones, or similar devices, (other than those medically prescribed), is not permitted in races on any single carriageway road that is not wholly closed to traffic.”

This includes bone conducting ear phones for this event.
